COMMUNITY INNOVATION PROJECT

A needs assessment on ethnic nonprofits/groups in 2013 highlighted challenges around the lack of infrastructure, support and trust among culturally diverse nonprofits and their communities. Cultural Diversity Resources wanted to encourage more open communication and collaboration.

Cultural Diversity Resources applied and was awarded a Bush Foundation Community Innovation grant in mid-August 2014 for a project titled “Leadership and capacity building of multi-ethnic communities in collaboration with community partners.” A cross cultural taskforce will organize community forums and meetings to understand challenges and share ideas. Together, they will identify overlaps or gaps in services and better align their resources, promote a more equitable frame for civic engagement.
